Significant Development in Cups Expansion Project

By Team BARKA | Your BARKA Team in Burkina Faso

Greetings from Burkina Chers Amis (dear friends),

Since last year's extremely successful menstrual cups pilot (80% of beneficiaries using cups post-project), Team BARKA has been working diligently on expanding the project to be able to reach more women in Burkina Faso.

BARKA has teamed up with some amazing partners including PSI Europe who will serve as a technical advisor, and Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) who will be leading an important research component to demonstrate the impact of cups on women's health and productivity. This is significant since the only cups research that exists globally has to do with school girls, and our project will reach out to community women (urban, peri-urban, and rural).

We have amazing local partners too. Chief among them is Tiko Solutions, a Ouagadouogu-based social enterprise who will import the cups and distribute cup kits to all 12 local associations who BARKA collaborated with in the pilot.

This project is in its final stages of development. We're very excited to submit a grant application to a major funder within a few months. We have confidence that this project will not only succeed to make cups more available to Burkinabè women, we also believe that its research will prove valuable to the cups community worldwide.

As always, we'll keep you up to date on our prrogress. Thank you for your support and belief in BARKA, the Little NGO that Could :-)

Barka!
