Epic Arts Update- Inclusive Education

By Samantha McLaughlan | Fundraising and Marketing Manager

It has been an exciting few months for us all at Epic Arts!

Last month we welcomed our new cohort of Inclusive Arts Course (IAC) students.

Our IAC is a full time, one year arts training course based at our Epic Arts Centre. Students from the deaf, disabled and non-disabled community study an arts-based education program in Dance, Theatre, Art, Film, Music and Literacy.

The students involved in the IAC are given a creative voice and seen as people who have significant value.

Students learn to believe in their abilities, see the opportunities that are possible for them and develop skills and confidence.

For many of these students and their families this is something they never saw as a possibility.

We hope that by learning together IAC students will become advocates for a more inclusive society in the future, young Cambodians from various backgrounds who have built up self-confidence and belief that they are a productive and innovative part of society.

Since 2015 Epic Arts have been running IAC, empowering young people with disabilities and demonstrating they can achieve great things on an equal level as those without disabilities.

Watch the video below to learn more about last year’s IAC students and their experiences and the impact of studying with IAC.

We truly appreciate your support, and we can't wait to share the incredible journey of inclusion, creativity, and empowerment with you.
