Empower Peruvian Women Living in Poverty

Hello Everyone, 

We are steadily making progress on our mission to empower women in Peru living in poverty. We have redesigned the flyers and marketing techniques we use to reach out to the community. As a result, the attendance at these events has grown.

At these sessions, we bring oranges, tea, and other snacks for the girls. Each person has a place to gather together without outside influences and participate in different activities. However, more than that, they have a safe place to talk about key issues with each other and our staff. During these times, the group has discussed matters of sexual health, which is an area of critcal importance for women living in the country. Without the requisite knowledge to protect themselves, opportunities for a better life can be diminished. Therefore, it is of the greatest importance that education on this topic be deep and ongoing. The trajectory of one girl's life can be altered by learning some of the lessons we share in these groups. 

We continue to craft our outreach to the community, giving young girls the opportunity to gather together in a safe environment and learn key issues that can change their futures for the better.
