1. Background
In Uganda, 87% of Ugandans lacked bank accounts and this means that more half of the Ugandan population can't have access to bank loans let alone be in position to pay the high interest rates change by finance institutions. Development Alert adopting the Bridging Gaps Model is implementing projects an Interest-Free Microloans Project designed to provide small, interest-free loans to low-income individuals or small businesses in underprivileged areas. The initiative is alleviating poverty, empowering individuals to start or expand their businesses, and foster community development.
