As a Brand with strong Identity values, Kené Nete is always looking for the new tendencies and adapting our ancestral designs to useful items and accessories of the modern life. Last months we traveled to Lima, to Gamarra- an emporium of fabrics and fashion resources- to look for materials that the city of Pucallpa cannot provide us.
Besides that, we are very proud to finally be finishing the bureaucratic process of registering our brand in the public registers, a necessary process for us and a big step as a brand. Now we can participate in a bigger amount of national artisan fairs and pass our own receipts.
The opportunities generated in the art and artisan fair “CYTE & Artesania” have us in constant activity by considering us as an important piece for the Peruvian culture as young creators and inviting us to give silkscreen workshop to different groups of artist.
Progresses:
– We had the opportunity to work in partnership with a former volunteer of Alianza Arkana, who invited us to send to Basque Country a collection of ecological bags made with natural dyes in collaboration with the Shipibo-Konibo artisan mothers of San Salvador Native Community. Our Alliances mean a lot to us and our progress as enterprisers and we have deep gratitude for all of the opportunities that our allies are offering to us.
– Lately we also received a workshop from a well known Shipibo Artisan to make laptop and tablet bags, which opened the opportunity of selling them in Germany.
– Together with the local brand “MENIN KENÉ MOROBO” we have launched a collection together of new products as hats made with Shipibo ornaments in “Mostarcillas”. It is a pleasure to work in collaboration with the owner of this brand who has lots of experience in artisan fairs.
In conclusion we would like to share that we feel very happy moving forward as a youth Collective and positioning our brand in a bigger market full of new opportunities, expressing that we feel deeply grateful with every single person that supports us and helps make the dreams and ambitions of the Shipibo youth possible.
