It's just been a little over two months since Kimbilio launched the project to build a school on the Maison Kimbilio land. The school has a vision to bring together street children and local children to offer excellent education for all.
We were grateful and honoured to have Bishop Bertin from the Anglican Diocese of Katanga Province visit the UK in February. During his stay, Bishop Bertin was able to offer assurances of his diocese support for this new project and championed the work of Kimbilio in his meetings with supporters and journalists alike. This photo shows Bishop Bertin adding a brick to the lego model at Chester Cathedral. The money raised through the building of this model goes to Chester Education Programme.
With this, we have begun to draw up plans for the building and co-ordinate the project management. Your donations are gratefully received and give us a good foundation to begin the work.
In the UK, we are also in the process of developing link material for schools to complement their curriculum. We hope these resources will not only assist in raising much needed funds but also in raising awareness and empathy.
The foundations are being planned and the links are being forged. Kimbilio thanks you for your support to make this possible.
