The new Kimbilio School building is complete and the school will open on 4 October 2021. The Head Teacher has been apponted and staff are being interviewed. A huge thank you to all of you who have contibuted to the School building project. It is so exciting to see the school ready for the first pupils to arrive.  Do go to the Kimbilio Facebook page -  facebook.com/groups/kimbilio where photos of the opening of the school will be posted.

Covid numbers are still very high in Lubumbashi and there is no space in the city mortuaries. There is little supply of vaccines and the Kimbilio team are providing masks for children who come to the Day Centre and who live in the short-term and long-term homes. Sadly, Jean Bosco, the director of Kimbilio in Lubumbashi, died of Covid in July. Jean set an amazing example the way he worked diligently and led Kimbilio for seven years with compsssion, gentleness and humility, improving the lives of so many vulnerable children. Two senior members of the team have stepped forward to carry out Jean's duties and we will review the position in three months.
