Completing the journey: more young women empowered

Chicas en Tecnologia

We are ending the year reaching over 4,000 young women from Latin America who participate in our Motivation, Training, and Accompaniment programs.

Through the free training proposals young women are building their present and future in the technological field. Through different stages, each one charts her own path to become a technology creator. At CET, we support their trajectories and enhance the opportunities they find in STEM disciplines.

After their experience with Chicas en Tecnología, 85% of these young women show an interest in pursuing studies, careers, or research in the field of technology. Their engagement in STEM disciplines is pivotal for shaping a more inclusive ecosystem.

Learn about some of the key programs developed during the last months:

Formación: Programming Course

Young women graduated from the Programming course. The program featured a blend of hands-on practical experience and in-depth theoretical knowledge, designed to immerse young women into the realm of coding. It equipped them with the essential skills demanded by today's job market and embarked them on the exciting journey of crafting their inaugural website prototype.

Last weeks of the Mentoring program.Young Latin American women from the #CETCommunity are embarking on a growth journey alongside professional women in the technology sector. Each mentor-mentee pair collaborates on the areas that the young women have chosen to enhance their careers (with four of them conducted entirely in English!).

CETAbassadors Gathering

The CET Ambassadors take on the role of mentors for other young women in our training programs, actively participate in shaping the curriculum, and are valuable members of the CET professional team. This initiative is a vital part of the Future Development phase of the CET Journey, playing a key role in supporting young women as they advance in their careers and enter the tech industry workforce. CETAbassadors are the catalysts for a significant cultural transformation.

Teacher Training Together with UNICEF
We are wrapping up the training cycles in Education, Gender, and STEM aimed at secondary school educators from across the country. To foster the development of STEM vocations in young women, it's essential for educational professionals to create and enhance inclusive spaces.

Encounter with the Ecosystem:

During a session with #CETAmbassadors and representatives from the private sector, government, educational organizations, and civil society, we addressed the key challenges and opportunities posed by Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the world of work. Chicas en Tecnología continues to champion networking and partnerships to transform the tech field into an inclusive and diverse space.

What motivates our work are the encouraging words from our participants:

"I would definitely love to continue working on my project. It's the first time I've embarked on something from scratch in the tech world, and I'm thrilled with the results. It goes beyond just an introduction to front-end; it's a bridge to step out of my comfort zone, become self-taught, and foster ambition about knowledge."
