Challenge

Widows in Cross River State often lack income sources after losing their spouses. Many struggle to feed their families, pay school fees for children, or maintain a home. Without skills or resources, they remain dependent on relatives or charity. Poverty and social exclusion make widows vulnerable to hardship, limiting their ability to rebuild stable, independent lives.

Solution

This project will provide livelihood skills training in tailoring, car repair, baking, and hairdressing to 950 widows. Participants will receive practical lessons, tools, and mentorship to start income-generating activities. By equipping widows with skills and resources, the project helps them earn sustainable income, support their families, and gain confidence and independence.

Long-Term Impact

Empowered widows can generate income, provide for their families, and reduce dependence on charity or relatives. Skills training enables widows to start small businesses or secure employment, improving household stability. Communities benefit as widows contribute economically, support their children's education, and strengthen local livelihoods, fostering social and economic growth in Cross River State.
