This project empowers widowed mothers in Bukavu, DR Congo, by training them in sewing skills through a fully equipped sewing workshop. We support vulnerable women by offering them tools, training, and a safe space to earn dignified income. With your help, we can expand the workshop to uplift more widows and orphaned families.
In Bukavu, many widows of war and disease are left without support. Without skills or income, they struggle to feed their children or find safe housing. This lack of economic opportunity traps women in cycles of poverty and despair. Our project responds to this urgent need by providing vocational training and tools for long-term self-sufficiency.
We provide widows with free access to sewing machines, fabric, and professional training. They learn to make clothing, school uniforms, and bags products they can sell for profit. The project also offers business mentoring and connects them to local markets. This enables them to become financially independent and rebuild their lives with dignity.
This project will help widowed women break free from poverty by acquiring sustainable skills. Over time, trained women will mentor others, creating a ripple effect of empowerment in their communities. Educated and employed mothers raise educated children, leading to stronger families and resilient communities across Bukavu.
