Wendy and the Parent Connection Award!
Wendy and the Parent Connection Award!

We have exciting news to share! Our partner agency Parent Connection was recently recognized for the amazing work they do.

The home visiting staff of Parent Connection, a program of Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, has been recognized by colleagues throughout the state for receiving honorary recognition at the Fulfilling the Promise annual conference in Wisconsin Dells on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. An estimated 300 home visitors, program managers, and parent educators who provide home-based, group-based, and center-based support and education to parents of young children attended this year’s event honoring their commitment to Wisconsin families.

Parent Connection was honored in two of three available award categories. Family Support Specialist Meaghan Kopish of Parent Connection was recognized as “Home Visitor of the Year” for the second time in her career, while the agency’s Parents as Teachers home visitation program was named “Home Visiting Program of the Year.” The program is designed for first-time parents and their baby to help ease the transition into parenthood by providing personalized home visits using the evidence-based Parents as Teachers curriculum. In October 2017, Parent Connection became the first home visiting program in Wisconsin to receive endorsement status as a Parents as Teachers program. It now serves as a standard of performance for all Parents as Teachers programs throughout the state.

“We are thrilled by our recent program endorsement and could not be happier to accept the award of Home Visitation Program of the Year. We are so very proud of our staff and happy that we have some of the best Home Visitors in the State to serve families in our community.” - Wendy Schwalbe, Parent Connection Program Manager.

Parent Connection serves families throughout the Fox Cities and Oshkosh. In addition to home visitation the program also offers family wellness workshops, teen parent programs, dads programs and family fun events including Butterfly Festival, which will celebrate its 10th year at City Park in Appleton June 16.

It's a true joy working with such an impactful partner agency! Diaper On!
