The silent business, but the impact is huge!!

Women's empowerment (or female empowerment) may be defined in several ways, including accepting women's viewpoints, making an effort to seek them and raising the status of women through educationawarenessliteracy, and training. Women's empowerment equips and allows women to make life-determining decisions through the different societal problems. They may have the opportunity to re-define gender roles or other such roles, which allow them more freedom to pursue desired goals.

Role of Education in Women Empowerment:

People engage in public debate and make demands on government for health care, social security and other entitlements. In particular, education empowers women to make choices that improve their children's health, their well-being, and chances of acquiring survival skills. Education informs others of preventing and containing a disease. Such education empowers women to make choices that can improve their welfare, including marrying beyond childhood and having fewer children. Education can increase women's awareness of their rights, boost their self-esteem, and provide them the opportunity to assert their rights.

Education is not universally available and gender inequalities persist. A major concern in many countries is not only the limited numbers of girls going to school, but also the number of educational pathways for those that step into the classroom. There are efforts to address the lower participation and learning achievement of girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.

In some parts of the world, girls and women are attacked for attending school, and societal efforts to stop this may be lacking.

The empowerment of women is a crucial and necessary goal for achieving gender equality and creating a more just and inclusive society. Empowering women means giving them the tools, resources, and opportunities to participate fully and equally in all aspects of life, including social, economic, political, and personal spheres.

Here are some reasons why the empowerment of women is important:

1. Equality and Human Rights: Empowering women is a matter of basic human rights and social justice. Women should have the same rights and opportunities as men to live a dignified life, make choices about their bodies and lives, and have equal access to education, employment, and decision-making positions.

2. Economic Development: Gender equality and women’s empowerment are closely linked to economic development. When women are empowered economically, societies experience higher productivity and economic growth. Women’s participation in the labor force, entrepreneurship, and leadership roles can contribute significantly to a country’s GDP and overall prosperity.

3. Health and Well-being: Empowered women are more likely to have better health outcomes for themselves and their families. They are better equipped to make informed decisions about their reproductive health, access healthcare services, and promote healthy behaviors within their communities.

4. Education: Empowering women through education is a powerful tool for breaking cycles of poverty and inequality. When girls have equal access to quality education, they can acquire knowledge and skills, expand their opportunities, and become active participants in social and economic development.

5. Social and Political Participation: Women’s empowerment includes their full participation in decision-making processes at all levels. When women have equal representation in politics, government, and other leadership roles, their perspectives and experiences can shape policies and contribute to more inclusive and effective governance.

6. Ending Gender-Based Violence: Empowering women is essential for addressing and preventing gender-based violence. By challenging harmful gender norms and promoting gender equality, we can create societies that are free from violence and discrimination.

7. Sustainable Development: The empowerment of women is central to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Many of the goals, such as ending poverty, promoting good health, achieving quality education, and ensuring clean water and sanitation, are directly linked to women’s empowerment.

In conclusion, empowering women is not only a matter of fairness and justice but also a prerequisite for achieving sustainable development and a more equitable and inclusive world. It requires addressing structural inequalities, challenging gender norms, providing equal opportunities, and promoting gender-responsive policies and programs. By empowering women, we can unlock their potential as agents of change and build a more prosperous and harmonious society for all.

Baghya is a differently abled person, after she met with an accident and husband is a daily wage worker. She has 3 children and one income does'nt help the family to survive. The family found it difficult to move on. At that time, she approached VOICE Trust for support. We provided her with a cart and after 3 years of  her tireless efforts, she is now able to manage her children education. Initially, she started with a vegetable stall and now she has purchased a fruit stall and since it is a cart, she is able to run her business during night time as well. She is very much grateful for all your support and help. Together we have transformed and saved a family of 5 on the whole.

We will progress towards 200 with all your encouragement. Thank for being there..!!
