Agri-Business Project: Herbal Hair Oil Production
This agribusiness initiative focuses on the production and marketing of herbal hair oil using locally available agricultural and medicinal plant resources. Many rural areas have access to traditional herbs, oilseeds, and natural ingredients such as coconut, sesame, amla, hibiscus, curry leaves, aloe vera, and neem, which are widely used in hair care. By converting these raw agricultural products into value-added hair oil, the project aims to create sustainable income opportunities for rural families, women, and small entrepreneurs.
The project promotes value addition by sourcing raw materials directly from local farmers, processing them using traditional and improved methods, and packaging the final product for local and regional markets. This approach not only increases farmers’ income but also reduces dependence on middlemen. Training will be provided on formulation, hygiene, quality control, packaging, branding, and basic marketing to ensure a safe and market-ready product.
