Dear Supporters,
We are excited to share the latest updates from our project, Saving Bengal Tigers through Children's Education. While we continue to work towards our 2024 goal, we are proud to have provided environmental education to hundreds of students already this year. Through engaging school workshops, bird-watching trips, safaris, and tree-planting projects, we are inspiring the next generation of conservationists and protecting the vital buffer zone habitats essential for endangered Bengal tigers and many other species.
Recent Project Successes
Visit to The National Park with Community
Women for Conservation aims to impact environmental conservation while improving community life standards. On April 1st, 2024, we hosted a jeep safari for the Ratanpur community. The participants were welcomed at Buddhaland Resort, Ratanpur, before embarking on a four-hour journey through the national park. They spotted Greater One-horned Rhinoceroses, Spotted Deer, Hod Deer, Barking Deer, Rhesus Macaques, and various bird species. The program included lessons on wildlife and habitat management, human-wildlife conflict, conservation efforts, and the impact of plastic on nature.
Awareness Programs
Women for Conservation Nepal’s core theme is the conservation of birds, tigers, wildlife, and their habitats. Conservation starts with awareness. Our awareness programs, held in communities and schools, aim to educate residents living near national parks about minimizing human-wildlife conflicts and the importance of wildlife and nature. These presentations foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for conservation efforts.
Tree Planting
Tree planting is crucial for improving wildlife habitats and supporting ecosystems. This year, we planted over 70 species of plants on Women for Conservation's Birds Nepal partner property. These trees will soon provide essential habitats for birds and wildlife, contributing to a healthier ecosystem.
Bird Watching
Birds play a vital role in ecosystems and food chains. Unfortunately, some bird species are endangered, with their populations declining. Our bird-watching programs educate students about the importance of birds in the environment. We also conduct bird-watching sessions to record local bird species, fostering a deeper connection to nature.
Join Us in Making a Difference As we strive to reach our 2024 grant goal, we invite you to continue supporting this life-changing program. Your contributions directly impact the lives of children, providing them with the opportunity to learn, grow, and become future conservation leaders. Together, we can empower more children, foster sustainable livelihoods, and create a brighter future for communities in Nepal.
Thank you for believing in the power of education and conservation. We hope you enjoy the attached photos from our program participants.
With gratitude,
