Trainees Are Making Progress & Lab is Now Connected to the Internet

By Sylvester Renner | Project Leader

Dear project supporters.

We are together continuing to empower youths through the provision of computer training.

Thankfully, in November, we were finally able to connect the computer lab to the Internet. This was a huge milestone. This means that we can offer a new and wider range of opportunities to the trainees. The monthly subscription cost is a little less than $200 a month.

We currently have 30+ ladies that are coming to the center for computer training from three different organizations as follows:

  • Youth for Christ Sierra Leone - 6 youths
  • Dream Home Orphanage - 1 lady
  • Hagar Sanctuary - 16 ladies
  • 8 of the original ladies who started the training earlier this year

The older trainees are going through the process of understanding the use of the internet and the World Wide Web with a view of enhancing their knowledge on the use of the web and its communication value.

The new set of trainees are learning how to create documents, how to edit text with a view of identifying grammatical errors and how to perform automatic corrections.

They are also learning how to type using typing tutor software.

Thanks to you, we are truly empowering them and preparing them for a great future.

As the year comes to a close, please consider making a donation of $200 to cover the cost of 1 month of internet access. This will enable us to continue to provide access to the online world of opportunities. Thanks so much for your consistent support.

Warm regards
The DA Team
