Vaga Lume's commitment to transforming lives in the Amazon has found inspiring allies. In an exciting partnership, three young creators of the Readers of the Amazon project have mobilized to support our mission, raising valuable funds that will help expand our impact in the region.
Since the beginning of their campaign, they have set up an Instagram profile with a link to the GlobalGiving platform, sharing the initiative widely. The response was immediate, generating the first donations and raising awareness about the importance of the cause.
In May, they organized a fundraising event with the restaurant chain California Pizza Kitchen, where 20% of the amount spent by customers they brought in was donated to the project. Their efforts raised approximately $107, which will be sent to GlobalGiving within the next 30 days.
Most recently, they held a garage sale, successfully raising over $1,000, a remarkable achievement that showcases their dedication and engagement. This amount will soon be deposited directly into the project’s GlobalGiving account.
At Vaga Lume, we have closely supported and encouraged these young changemakers in their fundraising efforts. Their spirit of collaboration and solidarity strengthens our work and enables us to keep growing. This year alone, we opened four new libraries, carried out numerous field expeditions, and are in the process of expanding our activities, reaching more communities and changing lives through reading. Their contributions help us grow even more, making a lasting impact on the Amazon’s children.
Soon, we will release our 2025 Activity Report, where we will detail these advances and reaffirm our commitment to democratizing access to education in the Amazon. Together, we continue building bridges and creating opportunities, proving that every action’s impact extends far beyond borders.

We invite teens from around the world to join the project as active members in their local communities. As ambassadors, they organize and lead fundraising events, collaborate with others, and share ideas within their networks. As volunteers, they work with the team locally. Readers of the Amazon welcomes diverse perspectives, experiences, and insights, believing that by working together, they can identify the best opportunities and solutions to further their mission.
