EMPOWERED LEADERS
The group of rural adolescent leaders received a workshop on self-esteem and leadership to enhance their capabilities, create a multiplier effect with other girls and women in the communities in education on issues of; gender equality, human rights and political advocacy.
Testimonials from teenage leaders:
-If we are empowered we can educate the rest of the adolescents and women, to break the inequality gap between women compared to men. We have the same rights as them, and we are going to fight to make it that way.
-This program helps us to have greater self-confidence, to be the voice of the invisible, to have the tools to fight for our rights. An educated woman can transform her own reality.
To continue educating more adolescent leaders and women in the rural communities of the Cangrejal River basin in Northern Honduras, we need to continue having their collaboration, and be able to share our experiences with more people so that they join our social movement.
