From Dreaming to Leading
At just 16 years old, she stands holding a microphone in front of a well-recognized local media outlet. This is not just an interview—it is the reflection of a journey of transformation. Her voice, confident and strong, tells a story born in rural communities that today inspires many other girls and young women to believe in themselves.
She is one of the young leaders of the Tejiendo Sueños program, an initiative that strengthens leadership, self-esteem, and skills among adolescent and young rural women. Through this process, she now sees herself not only as a leader, but also as an entrepreneur. With effort, guidance, and a real opportunity, she has launched her own small business as a stylist specializing in manicure and pedicure services, generating income and building a different future from within her community.
Her story shows that when young women are trusted, when they are given training, mentorship, and support to start businesses, dreams stop being distant promises and become tangible realities. Tejiendo Sueños does more than develop leaders—it supports productive initiatives, opens pathways to economic independence, and breaks cycles of inequality that have limited rural women for generations.
