Empowering 140 disabled children in Toba Tek Singh

The support for the disable people is one of the main priorities of Joy Foundation. We have been working closely with this group and our interactions with them brought us to a conclusion that people often ignore them and consider them not important to be looked after. This behavior causes a lifetime of trauma for the persons with disabilities. In order to overcome this barrier Joy Foundation focuses not only on the persons with disabilities but their close circle as well. We target them and often conduct seminars and meetings so that people can understand the importance and the need to be supportive of PWDs. This time we give one wheelchair to one girl and one tricycle to the one boy and we did not like to give them their names here. But both are happy and feel now a part of the society themselves. We request you please continue support us in this project and we will be able to support more disable people.

The Rehabilitation training program is for both groups of people to create awareness on the rights of Persons with Disabilities. We brought together normal and disable people together to understand better that disable people are no less than the normal people and have the right to live & enjoy life equally. Joy Foundation targets the rural and under-developed areas for this program as disable people there often lack the right treatment and care that they need and deserve. In urban areas it is a little better as people recognize and are well aware of the rights of PWDs but it is the opposite in rural areas. Through this program we will uplift the disable people in rural areas.
