Human Rights first Rwanda Association organized a three day empowerment training to women headed households.
The trainings centered on:
After the training the beneficiaries have been able to use their land titles to access loans from micro-finance and cooperatives to start small businesses.
Other beneficiaries have started a Basketry cooperative where they weave and sell their products at a large scale and this has enabled them to make savings for a better future
Some of the beneficiaries lauded the trainings as an eye opener for women emancipation and empowerment. She could never imagine of ever accessing a loan from a lending institution. To date she is a proud owner of a retail shop and she can take care of her children needs.
