Empowering women guides to become entrepreneur

As the tourism industry recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, twenty-five young women have joined the Female Trekking Guide Training program run by Empowering Women of Nepal, driven by a shared enthusiasm to create a better future for themselves and support their families. These participants come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wide range of diversity, making this program an example of empowerment through education and training.

The training program, spanning from August 27th to September 29th, offers a comprehensive curriculum that goes beyond conventional trekking and tourism skills. The participants are exposed to a holistic learning experience that includes self-empowerment, personal development, geography, history, map reading, women's rights, women's health, the environment, culture, religion, flora and fauna, first aid, and more. After one month of training, the participants will embark on a paid apprenticeship with 3 Sisters Adventure Trekking to gain hands-on experience in trekking

The Female Trekking Guide Training program is not just about teaching trekking skills; it is about transforming the lives of women, providing them with the tools they need to become successful entrepreneurs, and fostering a sense of empowerment and independence. As these young women complete their training, they are not only equipped to lead treks but also to make a positive impact on their communities and the tourism industry as a whole.
