By Sinneh Lahai Sen Sesay | Daniel Kamulay

Education is right and choice for children.
Education is right and choice for children.

Discourage Youths from Poverty believes Investing in a child education and is a fundamental human right and also a crucial path way to make a change in social, economic and transformation progress. The organization had explored the important of empowering children in education and also we work with stakeholders, communities and parents were we interact and bring out positive decisions made on how we can able to work together to dismantling barriers of early child girl marriage, poverty and lacking the food that hinders the progress of children in accessing their future in education. As an organization we work to empower by providing the children great stories books which they can engaged in home reading by this will make a big change in achieving in reading. There is a case of young girl by name of Aisha in a small village and she was six years of age and this child was so bright and eager to learn by which we talked to her and she had a thirst to go to school but the major obstacle of standing she had no access to education. The parent of the child are poor and blind to education and the mother of Aisha was a dedicated traditional women leader of a local society call BONDO which she initiated girls into it. So Aisha right of choice is on her parents this negative right of the parent made her stay home which they expose her to forceful household and little time in are early age and early married. As an organization we tried to sit with the family were we talk to them the important of education and encourage the parent to accept the willingness of the child to start school and the parent accepted. At a stage we support Aisha by enrolling her to the Pre School by providing the school learning supplies to start her education as now Aisha is now progressing to Pre 3 CLASS. Even though the parent of Aisha struggling into poverty they are well supporting their daughter after school to encourage her study at home.
