In 2023, we were able to expand our Empowering Girls Project and established a Teen Club in the Ashongman Cluster of Schools. Our team is currently going to the school every two weeks to talk with around 100 students (girls and boys) about topics such as menstruation, puberty, sexual and reproductive rights and consent, career coaching, and mental health. Boys are an integral part of our training sessions on menstruation, puberty, sexual and reproductive rights and consent. We believe in educating everyone in order to foster structural change.
This year held 20 workshops in total. In December we also hosted a one day event in cooperation with the organization The Good Roll Foundation where we gave out 3600 sanitary pads to the female students of the Bob School in Accra. We also conducted a workshop at this school with 41 boys and 46 girls to talk about puberty and menstruation.
For 2024 we are planning to expand the project to 2-4 more schools in the Volta Region.
