Rosa is serving her intern year in the Kateri Tekakwitha program, placed at the Association of Parents and Friends of People with Disabilities (ADISA) in Santiago Atitlán. This internship provides her with practical experience in Social Work while contributing to ADISA’s mission of humanitarian aid, education, and community health.
Rosa’s internship year is strengthening her skills and confidence as a future social worker. She is learning to coordinate with institutions, design creative educational tools, and bridge cultural and linguistic divides.
Rosa reflects: “Through my internship I can grow professionally and gain the work experience I need to find a permanent position in my Social Work career.”
Rosa’s placement through the Kateri Tekakwitha program demonstrates how our internships foster both personal growth and community impact. Her work at ADISA is preparing her for a meaningful career while improving the lives of families in Santiago Atitlán.
