Empowering Menstrual Dignity for Girls with Disabilities

Dear Friends and Supporters,

At Hope Foundation for African Women (HFAW), we have learned that inclusion begins with creating opportunities. Through our inclusive sports, mentorship, and community outreach programmes, we have witnessed the excitement of children and youth with disabilities whenever they come together. For many, these are rare moments to play, learn, make friends, and participate just like other children. As one excited girl shared after a sports activity, "Today I felt like everyone else. I played, laughed, and made new friends. I can't wait to come back." These moments of joy and belonging inspire our work and strengthen our commitment to promoting dignity, equality, and inclusion for girls with disabilities.

Building on this impact, HFAW launched the Empowering Menstrual Dignity: Girls with Disabilities project to support 200 girls with disabilities in three schools in Kajiado North Sub-County. However, as a community-based NGO with limited financial resources, we have not yet been able to implement the project at the scale required. While we have continued engaging schools and preparing for implementation, our available resources are not sufficient to provide menstrual hygiene products, mentorship sessions, and community awareness activities for every girl who needs them.

Today, we invite you to help us change this reality. Your donation will provide sanitary pads and other menstrual hygiene products, mentorship, menstrual health education, and safeguarding support to girls who deserve the same opportunities as their peers. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to ensuring that girls with disabilities can attend school with confidence, dignity, and hope. If you are unable to donate, please share this campaign with your family, friends, colleagues, and networks. Together, we can ensure that every girl has the opportunity to manage menstruation with dignity and pursue her education without barriers.

Thank you for standing with Hope Foundation for African Women and for believing that every girl deserves an equal chance to succeed.
