At the Juanfe Foundation, we believe that, in order to achieve true social integration of teenage mothers, it is essential to work from the depths of their being, generating the necessary tools for managing their emotions. During this semester, we have provided psychosocial support to 120 teenage mothers in Medellín, allowing them to identify and address emotional challenges.
Our diagnosis revealed that 12% of them have attempted suicide, 41% have low self-esteem, and 2% face substance abuse problems. In addition, more than 53% of their families live on a minimum wage and 43% share their home with more than five people, which places them in a situation of poverty and exposes them to various forms of domestic violence.
For these reasons, it is crucial to offer training in emotional management that allows them to face the difficult situations that arise. Through workshops and psychosocial support sessions, we are helping these young people develop skills that not only improve their emotional well-being, but also strengthen their social relationships and their ability to make informed decisions.
All of this is possible thanks to you. Your support allows us to continue empowering these brave young people, helping them build a better future for themselves and their families. Together, we are making a real and lasting difference in their lives.
