A Warm Greeting from RSKS India !!
As I reflect on my journey as a counselor in Ajmer, one particular chapter stands out—the story of empowerment and transformation that unfolded within my area. My name is Rashmi (Name Changed), and at the age of 39, I've witnessed the hopes and aspirations of the young women and girls in my community who yearned for a chance to explore their potential beyond the confines of their households. In my area, the majority of young women and girls were housewives, dedicated to their families and homes. However, beneath their nurturing roles, a deep desire burned within them to do something more, to contribute to their families' income, and to nurture their own dreams. Yet, they lacked the skills and opportunities to embark on a meaningful journey of work and self-discovery.
RSKS India recognized the untapped potential of the young women and girls in my area and proposed the establishment of a Beautician Vocational Education School. Eager to bring this opportunity to fruition, the RSKS India team members conducted a comprehensive baseline survey in my area. With the survey results in hand, the stage was set for the Inauguration Program of the Beautician Vocational Education School. The event was a celebration of hope, as more than 35 girls gathered to showcase their talents in dance and singing. The air buzzed with excitement and anticipation as we witnessed the immense talent and enthusiasm within our community.
The Inauguration Program marked the beginning of a transformative journey. The RSKS India team members, equipped with their expertise and passion for change, would guide and teach these girls beautician skills for five hours each day. The training curriculum was meticulously designed, comprising 1.5 hours of theoretical sessions and 3.5 hours of practical hands-on learning. The girls were overjoyed with this incredible opportunity. They recognized the doors it could open, not only for financial independence but also for personal growth and empowerment. It was heartwarming to witness their enthusiasm and dedication to acquiring new skills that would empower them to create a better future for themselves and their families. RSKS India's wonderful initiative has given wings to their dreams and illuminated their path to a brighter future.
