It is often seen that due to limited resources rural community migrate to cities in the search of employment. The major reason behind this is that agriculture is the only source of earnings for the rural community in villages. It is only men who migrate to cities in search of source of earning and maximum of they got success, but rural women get behind somewhere behind in the life. Being confined to several orthodox traditions and customs, rural women are not able to practise commercial activities.
In order to make poor and deprived women in villages financially strengthen, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan took a significant step. RSKS, with the support of GlobalGiving & Donors, identified poor and deprived women in villages and organized them under self-help groups. In the current session, RSKS has formed total 24 self-help groups under which 265 women members got loan amounted to Rs. 85 lakhs sanctioned from the bank. The bankd disbursed the loan to all 265 women members of the self-help groups to start their commercial activities. The women members utilized the loan amount to start self-employment units among which goat-rearing, confectionaries, fruit and vegetables shops, dairy, fancy stores, slippers manufacturing, agricultue, etc are major ones.
RSKS takes meeting of the women members of the self-help groups every month regularly and takes feedback & follow-up that help us to know about the changes brought to their lives that reflect the impact of our efforts. After solving the problems faced initially, we are getting positive results as rural women have established their self-employment units that enhanced the opportunities to earn more and improved the living standard of their family. These women are now becoming financially strengthen that not only allow them to contribute to meet family expenses but also make them able to provide better education to their children.
RSKS, in order to improve the health of SHGs women members, distributed sanitary napkins under this program and make them understand the importance of using sanitary napkins. Our activists made them aware of using sanitary napkins so that they may be able to do daily routine activities without any hasstle and delivered information to keep away from infections and other diseases during menstruation.
All the beneficiaries thank GlobalGiving, Donor's and RSKS from the bottom of the heart for the efforts brought miraculous changes to their lives.
