Today, whether it is a village or a city, women empowerment is discussed, but it is so difficult to say that how many understand its actual meaning. In Indian society, women are still in patheitic conditions. We often see the situations where women have to face several tortures. Women are still economically dependent on others, they have to depend on family members to meet their basic requirements. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan has been successfully working for the empowerment of women.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation has been working to make women economically strengthen. In this series, poor women are joined to women self help groups and with the help of bank loan at low rate of interest is provided to them. The organization provided loan to one of these self-help groups last years which was utilized by the women members to establish employment units. Here is the story of two of the women members in her words:-

An IMPACT !!****

My name is Dhan and I'm 51 years old. At the age of life, i alone. Last year, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan founded a women self help group where I got myself registered. After joining the group, I got a loan of Rs. 15,000 with the help of bank from which I started a Grocery & general shop in the village. After a short time period, I started good earning from the shop.

I introduced new stock to the shop with my savings which I used to deposit in the self help group and repayed loan from my earnings and still deposit my savings in the group. Now, I'm running my business very well for which I thank to Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and the donors from the bottom of my heart. Now, I have become self-reliant and I no more need to take others obligations to meet my basic requirements. I want to start a dairy businesss along with the shop in the near future for which I'm working hard. Again, I thank Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, GlobalGiving Foundation and the donors for providing me help and getting me out of the trouble.

An IMPACT !! ***

Salma resides at a distant village in Pisangan block is a 30 years old very poor woman. Her husband worked as a peasant labour who earned a little which was not sufficient enough to feed the family. Salma also helped him with her little earnings which she got by grazing other cattles in fields. Salma joined a self help group with the help of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan where she got a loan of Rs. 12,000 at low rate of interest.

She bought two goats from the loan amount and started a dairy busines on a small scale. The dairy business got her earning from which she repayed the loan and deposited her savings in the group. After a while, she again got another loan and she extended her dairy business with the loan amount by buying 2 cow and goats. Afterwards she got growth in the dairy business and now she runs the business on a large scale and got renowned in the village. She has set an example as an indepndent entrepreneur in the village.
