A Story; Empowered Rural Women !!

We thank you from the core of our heart for your valuable support through GlobalGiving.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan is determined to work for women empowerment. The organization associates poor women to self-help groups in order to make them financially strenghten. Under the project managed with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation and the donors, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan has established more than 175 women self-help groups so far and these groups are being operated successfully. The organization takes meetings of its self-help groups at times in which savings of women members are depositted. In the meeting, we discuss their jobs and if there is any member who has any problem then we resolve her problem. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan provides help to women members to get loan from Bank for their economic activities. The organization also holds capacity building training for improving life skills of women.

In self-help groups women members are motivated to establish self-employment and being conviced some members do the same. In these groups information about new financial and government plans and schemes are given to the members from which they get benefis. There are hundreds of successful stories of women membes of these self-help groups, which have been noticed. Here, we include some of them.

My name is Vimla and I am associated with Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan for tree year. The organization established group of women in which our savings were depositted and provided us a bank loan. All members of the groups collectively start working as confectioner. We bought the required tools with the amount of loan sanctioned and started working hard. Now, we take orders for many functions and we earn a good income. All the women members are now self-reliant and financially strengthen.

Sunita is a dalit women residing at a distant village in Ajmer. The conditions of her family was pathetic. What her husband earned was not sufficient to meet the requirements of the family. So, Sunita did odd jobs at others homes to earn extra. Once she met our activists in one the programs organized by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan. The organization associated her with self-help group from where she got help to get a loan. She started a fancy store with the amount of loan. After sometime she got famous in the village and the shop earned her a good income. Now, her family is well-to-do and her shop is also running good for which Sunita thanks Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation from the bottom of the heart.
