Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan thanks you for the same from the bottom of the heart.
Agriculture is still the major source of earning in rural India. The rural community depends on agriculture totally. Generally, women in rural regions work in fields and earn the source of livelihood. But, they use chemical manure and artificial fertilizers for maximum yield that gradually reduces the fertility of the soil and the fields are becoming wasteland.
Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan took an amazing initiative and communicated the information about safe and effective ways of agriculture with women members of self-help groups in rural areas. RSKS, with the financial support of GlobalGiving Foundation, provide training of vermi compost and ajola promotion to 23 women members of 2 self-help groups. In the training, we delivered message not to use chemical manure and artificial fertilizers. Mainly, the trainees learn to produce natural manure from vermi compost in the training which they can made even at their homes and can enhance the fertility of their fields.
After completing the training, all the trainees started producing vermi compost manure at their places and after some time they used the natural manure in their fields. On the other hand, by ajola promotion the trainees are able to manage fodder for their cows and buffaloes at their homes. One of the program executives had conversation with on of the trainees and came to know about their ways of practising agriculture.
Sugna is 36 years old and is one of the members of the self-help groups who practising agriculture for last 12 years for which she used chemical manure and artificial fertilizers. The excessive use of chemical manure and artificial fertilizers reduced the fertility of the soil. Then, she joined the training and came to know about the importance of natural manure. She started making natural manure at her home with cow-dung and fodder. Afterwards, using the natural manure in the fields she is now getting better yield than ever and the fertility of the soil is also maintained. Sugna gives credit for all to RSKS and thanks GlobalGiving Foundation.
