We Have Been Getting your Valuable Generous support through GlobalGiving and we are Thankful to you from the Core of our Heart.

Pushkar, a pious city, in Ajmer district surrounded by Aravali ranges is heaven for farmers. The local farmers produces thousands of quintals of myrobalan every year. Women farmers work hard for the entire year to get good yield and produce thousands of tons myrobalan. After having such a large production the women farmers are not satisfied and happy as they don't get reasonable price of their yield. Many national companies purchases their yield at lower prices from these women farmers and earn a huge amount by producing and selling products from myrobalan.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan took an initiative an year ago and organized the women farmers through Ujala self help groups. We provided support to get them bank loan at low rate of interest and provided myrobalan processing training to them. During the training, the farmers learned to process myrobalan and to produce secondary products as myrobalan powder, candies, chocholate, pickle, jam, etc. After gettting training, the women farmers didn't sell their yield at lower prices and started processing the yield to produce the secondary products and sold them in the local market. The sale of the secondary products got them unexpected income.

Now, the women farmers process their myrobalan yield and sale the secondary products in market. Meera, one the member of the self-help group told us that she had thousands quintals of myrobalan as the yield, but she had to sell it at lower prices. RSKS gave us training to process myrobalan and after learning that we started processing the myrobalan yield and producing secondary products as pickle, jam, powder, candy, chocholate, etc. that have good demand in the local market. The processing of myrobalan gets us a good income and a sustainable source of livelihood, moreover we are becoming self-reliant for which we all are thankful to RSKS and GlobalGiving Foundation.
