An IMPACT Story !!****
Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan formed a women self-help group three years ago in a distant village of block Pisangan, Ajmer. The average income per person is very low in the village. Women are prohibited to move out in Typical Traditional community due to which they are unable to move out to perform business activity. RSKS helped them to get micro-loan to start business activities at their homes. In the report, we share the success story of Hamida (Name Changed), a member of Surya (Name Changed) women self-help group.
Three years ago, the organization formed Surya self-help group and 34 years old Hamida who comes from topicat traditional family is one of the members of the group. Hamida lives in a joint family in which her husband works as a driver and most of the time he is out of the home and she had to look after the family alone. In the absence of her husband, she had to face economic crisis so often. She wanted to start her own business to solve the problem of finance, but they already in debt of a local moneylender due to which they found themselves helpless.
Then, Hamida joined with Surya self-help group formed by RSKS in the collaboration with GloblaGiving Foundation and started saving. After some time, Hamida got her loan sanctioned through the self-help group at low rate of interest. First of all, She repayed the loan of the moneylender with the amount of the bank loan and thus she got free from a huge burden. With the remaining amount of the bank loan, she bought raw material of ara tari, embroydery and started mirror work & pench work. In th beggining, she had to face many problems as she also had to perform the basic duties regarding her family to look after it. She started doing hard work to accomplish both of her duties and after a short while she started getting the result of her hard work. Her business of ara tari was growing that increased the profit she earned and with the earnings she repayed the installments of the bank loan every month and was also able to nurture her family better than ever. Then she got another bank loan sanctioned through the self-help groups very soon and with the help of the loan amount she bought the necessary tools and equipments for her business.
Now, Hamida is engaged in her business of ara tari and embroydery with perfection that gets her an earning of more than Rs. 600 per day. Her husband also bought a new vehicle and both together work hard to nurture the family. Hamida gave employment to other local women in her business that helped to grow the business. Today, Hamida is renowned as a successful women enterpreneur in the village and has set an example for other women. Hamida thanks RSKS for what and where she is today along withe the donors and prays for us.
