Earlier, the rural community had a single source of taking loan in the villages was moneylender. The innocent rural women took their property on mortgage to take loan from moneylender at high rate of interest. When they didn't repay installments of the loan along with the interest, the moneylender seized their property. But, now the sources of taking loan have been changed. Now, women take bank loans easily through self-help groups in whcih Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan provides them full support. RSKS unites poor and deprived rural women through self-help groups and helps them to get bank loan for commercial activities.
RSKS has taken an incredible initiative and to bring transparency in the work of self-help groups, we made the entire working process digital. From the formation of a self-help group to taking loan and monthly meetings, everythins has been digitized. The details of self-help groups accounts, their savings and installments of loans, etc. are saved digitally.
RSKS, in the collaboration with honourable organization GlobalGiving Foundation, collected the data of more than 2000 women members of 200 plus self-help groups and the details of their accounts have been saved digitally that brought transparency to the work of self-help groups at every level. Digital education was provided to women members of the self-help groups and taught them how to deal with the processing of self-help groups in digital manner. Now, women keep information of their accounts digitally and access it through cell phones whenever required.
We are glad to inform you that the digital education made rural women aware, no matter what is the age of the woman. We mention it here as when we took feedback we met with a women member of 50 years age who took digital edcuation.
My name is Leela (Name changed) and I'm 51 years old. It is 2 years since our self-help group formed. RSKS provides us bank loan through self-help group which we used for commercial activities. RSKS also gave digital education to the members of the self-help groups recently and taught us to deal with the work proceedings of the self-help group through cell phones. I operated cell phone for first time in my life and took digital education and now I'm able to get any sort of information of self-help group very easily through cell phone that saves my time and physical labour. It also saves our environment as the entire no paper is used and I give thank to RSKS team and the donors for their efforts.
