From time to time we see the impact stories from ground through our feedback forms. One of these wonderful Beneficiary's story is shared with you through this report.

A Story of Amla......!!

My name is Amla (Name Changed) and I live in a remote village of Ajmer district. I am 52 years old and I live with my husband, mother in law, 2 son, 2 daughters, 2 daughters in law, and grand children. The male of the family goes out for daily wages work from which they bring some money for the family from which the household expenses are met. The females from our family were staying at home to do the household works and this was due to the conservative thinking of the rural society that women should not go out to work and this is the reason why my mother in law didn’t worked and didn’t allowed us to go outside and work. I spoke about my interest to support the family financially but then also my husband said that I cannot go out to work as daily wages and we didn’t had money to start any business.

One day I came to know about the Women SHG program of RSKS India, as the team members of RSKS India came to our village to form self help groups in our village. Then my friend told me that this program would provide financial support at a very low interest rate & then when my husband came back at home from work, I told him about everything I knew and then my husband said that you can go and ask your questions from them and then decide. After this when the next day the RSKS team came, I quickly rushed towards them and asked them about everything and then gave my name for the women self help group. A month later the team came and provided my loan at a very low interest rate and also while watching my condition, they suggested me to run a grocery general store as my house was at a very good place in the village. I like the idea of opening a grocery general store and told it to my husband and he also agreed on this as I didn’t had to go out and work as it would be self employment.

The decision of opening the grocery general store was the best decision which I took in my life as every month I am able to manage the household expenses on my own and my husband’s money is being saved. Me and my husband both work and this has improved the financial condition of our family. We are now easily able to take care of our family members and due to this my confidence has also increased. I have been able to do the banking activities successfully as the RSKS team members also taught me about financial literacy and the new digital tools which I could use. I have successfully repaid the loan and have made my shop filled with all the useful materials. My will and determination got wings after I received the support from RSKS India. Me and all of my family members thank RSKS India and the kind donors for supporting me and making me self reliant.
