From time to time we see the impact stories from ground through our feedback forms. One of these wonderful Beneficiary's story is shared with you through this report.
A Story of Santu ......!!
My name is Santu (Name Changed) and I am 47 years old. I live in a remote village with my husband and 4 children. I have two sons and two daughters who are studying at the moment and my husband lost his employment during the covid-19 pandemic. Earlier I used to sit at home and take care of children and home but when our children grew and their education cost as well as the household requirements increased then the money which my husband earned was not enough for the family. At that moment I thought to start doing work for my family so that I could also support my family financially but due to lack of transportation from our village to city and lack of money, I was unable to do it.
After some time, I was part of the women Self help group of RSKS India because I was interested in their program and what they taught me about savings. They provided my low interest loan to start and run my business and through that I started a vegetable and fruits vendor shop at the nearby city. In starting I didn’t had many items but still I was earning some money through it and then I started doing my savings from it and then repaid the loan to get bigger loan next time and then the next time I was able to run my business efficiently. The RSKS team did monthly meetings of our group in which they told us about savings importance, banking activities, better and effective marketing etc. I was so happy with this as from this information I was able to manage my expenses as well as earnings in a better way.
Now me and my family are living a peaceful life as I support my family financially and my husband has also joined a job in the city. During covid-19 pandemic, me and my family were able to pass that time only through the savings which I did daily from my business. I am so happy to tell that till now I have received the low interest loan for 5th time as I always repaid the loan on time and the money which I received through this program was 75,000 INR. My children are doing their higher studies now and me and my husband are able to take better care of them. I do savings everyday so that any financial problems in the future could be solved through these savings. I think now that to achieve anything in life, one must be determined towards his/her goal and must do the hard work for it, as it would surely benefit them someday. Me and my family thank RSKS India and the genuine donors through which I was able to change my life by joining the Women Self Help Group.
