A Impactful Story of Riddhima from Ground ......!!
My name is Riddhima (Name Changed) and I am 39 years old, I live with my husband and children in a remote village. My financial condition was very poor as I didn’t had much chance to get my proper education and was unable to do any job due to the conservative thinking of the society. I learned sewing at my home but after marriage I was unable to do that too. My husband does daily wages job and from his earning we could only have two times meal and not at all savings. I feel so ashamed when my children asks money from me and I am unable to give them anything as me and my husband first keeps the money for the home expenses and then for other activities. I could start my sewing business but for it I would require some extra money which I do not have right now and some people who could do consultation with my family so that I could start my own journey of earning for the family.
One day, some people from the RSKS India came to our village to form women self help groups and they called many women to discuss about this program, I was also one of them as my friend took me at the meeting. There they told us that we could have low interest loans which we could easily repay by starting our own business and solving all the problems collectively by doing savings and monthly discussions. After this me and other 11 women from my village enrolled for this program and took a low interest loan for starting our own business. Then the RSKS Team members also visited my home to talk to my husband about starting the sewing business and the benefits of it for the family and for myself. Then after mony times consultation my husband agreed for me doing sewing work at the home.
Now I do my sewing work at home and earn a handsome income from it as my village women and girls and also women and girls from other villages come to me for sewing their dress. I utilized the loan amount to start my business of sewing and now I have took the low interest loan three times and I have always repaid the loan on time through my savings. The self help group and the other members of my group have been helpful to me and have always supported me in my problems. The monthly meetings of our group have also been very beneficial as in these meetings the RSKS team members motivate us in doing our business and also tells us about other schemes from which we could get benefit. Me and my family thank RSKS India from bottom of our heart as through this program now I have got financial independence and I could fulfil my children needs. Now I also know about many banking activities like how to deposit money into my account, how to withdraw many from my account etc and this has been possible only due to the continuous support I received from RSKS India. I appreciate this step of RSKS India for empowering women from the rural areas.
