A Story of MANJRI.........!!
My name is Manjri (Name Changed), and I am 29 years old. I live in a small village with my husband and our little child. Life in the village is simple, but it can be challenging, especially when it comes to making ends meet. My husband works hard to provide for us, but his income alone is not enough to cover all our needs. For a long time, I’ve wanted to contribute financially to our family, to help ease the burden on my husband and ensure a better future for our child. However, finding work that I could do while also taking care of my child seemed impossible.
For years, I dreamed of finding a way to earn money, but with no formal education or skills, my options were limited. I had always been interested in beauty and fashion, and I would often help my friends and neighbors with simple beauty treatments. They would compliment my work, and that planted a seed in my mind—maybe I could turn this interest into a way to earn a living. But without proper training, I didn’t know where to start. Then, one day, I heard about a program being offered by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India). They were organizing a three month Beauty Parlour Vocational Education School in our area. When I found out about it, I felt like my prayers had been answered. This was exactly the opportunity I had been waiting for—a chance to learn a skill that I was passionate about and could use to support my family.
I enrolled in the program with high hopes, and I was not disappointed. From the very first day, I was impressed by the quality of the training. The instructors were knowledgeable and patient, guiding us through every aspect of running a beauty parlour. We learned everything from basic skincare and haircare techniques to advanced beauty treatments like facials, hair styling, and makeup application. The hands-on training was incredibly valuable, and I gained the confidence I needed to start working professionally. But the program didn’t just teach us beauty skills. RSKS India went above and beyond by incorporating life skills, entrepreneurship, and even sports into the curriculum. The life skills sessions helped me build my self-confidence and taught me how to communicate effectively with clients. The entrepreneurship training was especially beneficial—it taught us how to manage finances, market our services, and run a business. I had never imagined that I would learn so much in just three months.
After completing the program, I felt ready to take the next step. With the knowledge and skills I had gained, I decided to open a small beauty parlour in our village. It wasn’t easy at first—I had to save up to buy the necessary equipment and find a suitable space—but I was determined to make it work. My husband was supportive, and together, we set up a small room in our home as my parlour. Word quickly spread in the village, and soon, I had a steady stream of clients. The women in our community were excited to have a local beauty parlour where they could come for affordable and professional services. My business grew, and I began to see the positive impact it was having on our family’s finances. We were able to save more money, and I felt proud to be contributing to our household. I cannot express how grateful I am to RSKS India for organizing the Beauty Parlour Vocational Education School in our area. They gave me the skills and confidence to start my own business, and they showed me that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams.
