Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan initiated a transformative three-month Advanced Garments Making Vocational Education School Program aimed at empowering marginalized rural girls. This program was designed to provide these young women with valuable skills in garment making, enabling them to create better opportunities for themselves and their families. The training sessions are held daily for five hours, combining both theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure a well-rounded understanding of garment production.

Each day, the trainees receive 1.5 hours of theoretical instruction, covering essential topics like fabric selection, garment design, sewing techniques, and business management. These lessons lay the foundation for practical application, giving the women the necessary knowledge to create garments professionally. Following the theoretical sessions, the girls participate in 3.5 hours of hands-on practical training. During this time, they apply what they have learned by creating various garments under the guidance of a skilled master trainer. The practical component covers cutting, stitching, embroidery, and finishing techniques, ensuring that every trainee becomes proficient in garment making.

The Advanced Garments Making Vocational Education School Program has had a profound impact on the lives of the rural marginalized girls who are attending the training. By acquiring the skills to make garments, these girls are now in a position to secure a sustainable livelihood either through employment in the garment industry or by starting their own small businesses. Many of the trainees have expressed increased confidence in their abilities, and they now see a brighter future for themselves and their families. The daily routine of combining theory with practical application has allowed the girls to develop a deeper understanding of garment production. The theoretical knowledge they’ve gained has provided them with the ability to think creatively about design and understand the technical aspects of garment making. Meanwhile, the practical sessions have given them hands-on experience, building their confidence in handling sewing machines, working with different fabrics, and creating high-quality garments.
