Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) is delighted to share the successful completion of a one-month internship by three young Social Work Student Practitioners from Christ Nagar College, Maranalloor, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Every year, RSKS India provides meaningful internship opportunities to hundreds of young people from India and abroad, helping them understand social challenges, grassroots realities, community participation, and the measurable impact of development initiatives.
During their internship in RSKS, the students actively participated in programmes related to girls’ education, child welfare, support for street and slum-dwelling children, and vocational education for young women and adolescent girls. Through field visits, beneficiary interactions, programme observation, documentation, and teamwork, they gained valuable practical experience beyond the classroom.
What made their journey especially inspiring was their determination to travel nearly 2,700 kilometres from Kerala to Rajasthan. Despite major differences in language, culture, climate, food, and local traditions, they adapted with enthusiasm, respect, and a strong spirit of service. Their willingness to step outside their comfort zones reflected courage, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to social work.
By the end of the internship, the students had developed a deeper understanding of rural and community-based development while also strengthening their communication, observation, teamwork, and professional skills.
RSKS India sincerely appreciates the students for choosing our organisation as a learning platform. We also extend heartfelt gratitude to our donors and supporters, whose trust enables us to create such meaningful opportunities for young people while strengthening grassroots action.
