Dear Friends
A warm Greeting from RSKS India & Happy New Year
Under the project, Empowering Poor Women With Sustainable livelihood, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the financial support of Global Giving and Donors, established 6 women self-help groups of poor deprived marginalized women in Village Khori, Kishanpura, Pisangan Panchayat Samiti, Ajmer. In these 6 women self-help groups, 68 poor rural women are learning to be financially competent and literate also they are saving Rs. 200 per head per month. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan also, for the economic development of these 68 women members of these self-help groups, helped to get them Bank Loan of Rs. 10,19,000 (Rs. Ten Lakh Nineteen Thousands) with the support of ICICI Bank.
The complete details for Women Self-Help Groups is enclosed with the report.
The project is successfully executed under the observation of Mr. Deepak Sharma, Chief Executive of the organisation. Munni, a 32 years old, member of Naari Shakti SHG is now happy to join the newly formed Women Self-help group. Munni is a daily wage worker, characterizes "living from hand to mouth". Munni, third standard drop-out is able to sign but doesn't know to read and write. Whenever she needs money, she borrows from the villages debt at 10% to 15% rate of interest monthly. Due to the high interest rate of loan, a bigger part of her family's monthly income goes to the debtor, but now, after being joined to the group she has got a major relief because her Naari Shakti Women Self-help Group has been provided a bank loan of Rs. 1,22,000 at the rate of 8.5% per annum only. Now, Munni will have monthly savings to the upkeep of her children and to improve the living standard of her family.
The most poor women members of these 6 SHGs groups has bought goats for rearing to earn some income by which these women are getting income from goat-rearing and developing their livelihood. This leads to develop leadership and self-competence in these women. The success of this Women Empowerment Project goes to Global Giving Foundation and the donors.
