The only objective of the project is to develop poor rural women socially and economically with the support of self help groups. Under the project, poor rural women of marginalised community at Pisangan, Ajmer are being made empowered and self-reliant by involving them all together in various economic activities such as goat-rearing, agriculture, animal husbandry, sewing etc. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan is successfully managing more than 50 women self help groups.
The project is being implemented with the financial support of Global Giving Foundation. The capacity building and developing primary orientation among the members of women self help groups is being done succesfully. Additionally, financial literary and banking knowledge is also being provided to women self help groups. The members of these groups are empowering them economically by savings as well as they are helping their colleagues to meet their social and economic requirements.
Recently, a month ago an incident had to happen in women self help group of the village Nuriyawas. The child of Maya, one of the members of the group got ill and he was hospitalised. Maya was so worried then since the treatment of her child required money and she had a little saving. She informed the members of self help groups about it. Then the members of self help group decided to help Maya and sanctioned a loan of Rs. 15,000/- from SHG's fund instantly for Maya and gave her. The child could get better treatment in time due to the timely help of SHG and after getting recovered he has started to go to school but all of this could happen just because of the unity of the members of the group. Listening such incidents very often reflects the effectiveness of the project.
