Indian society has been a male dominated society from the very beginning. Women have always been considered inferior. Women are considered an a dependent only in the family and society. and it is considered that a woman needs the support of man in each step of her life. But, today, women are not restricted to look after the home and family, they are have significant places in every area of work. Today's women are self-dependent and practise self-employment. Then to rural women have to face financial problems and therefore they are unable to establish self-employment.
In the joint venture of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation, bank loan was provided to rural women. Ten self help groups have been established in 10 villages in Pisangan block. Loan of Rs. 13 lakh was provided to 116 women members of 10 self help groups with the help of bank. All rural women were happy to get the loan as they are now able to establish their self-employment. Bank also provided them some help. Bank get them subsidy on the interest of the loan by which these women are repaying the loan at low interest rate very easily. Our activist had conversation with one of the members of self help groups. In her words,
"My name is Mohini and I am 37 years old. My husband does labour which is not sufficient financially for my family and we are unable to upbring. A day, one of the activists of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan joined me to women self help group and provide me loan from bank with the support of Global Giving Foundation. I was so happy to get the loan as I was in need of it. I bought a goat from the loan and now I earn by selling its milk and deposit my savings along with the installment of the loan. I thank GlobalGiving Foundation and Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan from the core of my heart because they have got wings to my dreams and made my dreams true. Now the financial condition of my family is much better than ever and we have repaid the loan earlier taken from a moneylender at a high rate of interest. I have established self-employment and thus become self-dependent and thinking to buy 2 goats more to expand my business."
