This year, COOPI has brought hope and healing to 60 women in the Democratic Republic of Congo, addressing not only their physical wounds but also their deep emotional scars.
Grace, one of these women, recently shared her story: “Thanks to you, I have begun to live again.”
Grace and her friends were on their way to Shaba’s mining area when they were ambushed by five men. “We had no escape,” she recalled. Her friend Yannick managed to flee, but Grace and Ruth were taken captive and endured brutal violence.
Despite her pain, Grace sought help through COOPI’s listening centers. “I was met with kindness and respect,” she shared. “They treated my wounds and gave me the psychological support I desperately needed. I never thought I could feel hope again.”
Our team continues to provide critical care to survivors like Grace, offering medical treatment, counseling, and essential support. Yet, many more women and girls in Congo still need this lifeline.
With your support, we can offer a safe space, healing, and hope to all who seek it. Each donation is an investment in their strength and future, helping them take their first steps toward healing and renewal.
