Kenyan Youth are Leaders

Youth in Kenya are motivated, talented, and ready to tackle big challenges.

CFK Africa (CFK) invests in 58,000+ youth in slums annually, equipping them with the skills to advocate for themselves and their communities through complimentary education and health programs.

Your gift supports Youth Peer Providers like Hezborn, who connects youth in Kibera with mental health counseling, consultations, sexual and reproductive health services, and screening for infectious diseases at CFK's Youth Friendly Services Center (YFS). Through outreach, he informs youth about health services, builds trust by relating to similar experiences, reduces stigma around seeking help, and provides relatable and approachable guidance. In 2024, YFS reached 7,796 young people, underscoring the importance of targeted healthcare for youth in informal settlements.

And it supports youth like Lidweye, a talented entrepreneur in CFK’s TechCraft Project who is working on launching his own fashion line showcasing African culture, one of 100 TechCraft apprentices CFK trained in 2024. Lidweye shares the impact of your donation in his own words:

“I was on the verge of losing my hope, but then [CFK Africa] gave me an opportunity. This program has not only provided me with opportunities to kickstart my career, but has also broadened my network, ensuring my career path.”

Stories like Violet’s and Lidweye’s remind us why this work is so critical, and we thank you for walking alongside us in our efforts to generate lifelong impact in informal settlements.

Together, we are building pathways out of poverty.
