Dear Donors & Well Wishers,

Greetings!!

I hope this report finds you in Great Spirit and Health. I am very happy to share the progress report of Assistive Devices that supports 1000 people with disabilities. Covid 19 has affected all of us, but people with disabilities had a very tough time for their survival. The people with disabilities were out of livelihood, and many of them had sold their devices to manage their two times meal.

Ramila is a polio survivor since the age of 5 years. She completed primary education, and could not study further due to high schools were located in other villages which were very far. She married persons with a disability, having two children. Her husband is a daily wage earner, and she looks after the family. Sudden lockdown and Covid 19 has affected her, and her family very badly. They did not have money for two times meal. She had sold her tricycle to a scrap vendor for money, and manage to provide a meal to her children. Blind People's Association came to know about her through local volunteer and provided a dry ration kit till her husband gets a livelihood. She could not move out as she did not have a tricycle. BPA has provided her tricycle and motivated her to do some business on a tricycle. With the support of donors like you and other donors we have distributed 226 tricycles, and 58 artificial limbs to people with disabilities during the period of 1.4.2020 to 11.3.2021.

We have also distributed 337 smartphones to students with blindness and low vision who were out of the school due to covid 19 situation, and unable to access the education. These mobile phones helped them to connect with school teachers, access the study materials, and record the classroom session.

We have planned to provide new assistive devices such as Refreshrable Braille, Braille Reading Machines to people with blindness and low vision in the next coming days. We request you continue your support, and spread a word with your friends, family members and others about this project. Your support encourages us to reach out to more people and serve to more phone.

Thanking you
