Reports: Child Marriage Crisis Reaches New Highs

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Friends and Prospective Supporters,

First, we want to sincerely thank you for taking the time to learn about our mission. Though we are yet to receive our first donation, we remain hopeful and determined because this issue cannot wait. With your support, we can bring together teens, parents, and religious leaders to finally break the silence and take action against child marriage and teen pregnancy in our communities.

Right now, in Nigeria and across Africa, young girls are being forced into marriages they did not choose. Others become pregnant as teenagers, dropping out of school and losing their futures, all because these topics are never discussed openly at home or in places of worship.

The cycle continues because:

  • Parents avoid "difficult" conversations about sex, consent, and rights.
  • Religious and cultural norms sometimes unintentionally enable harmful practices.
  • Teens lack safe spaces to learn, ask questions, and advocate for themselves.

This is not just a problem for "other people’s children." It affects entire communities; lost educations, health risks, and cycles of poverty that could be prevented.

We are organizing a groundbreaking Youth Summit where:
Teenagers will learn about their rights, health, and how to protect themselves.
Religious leaders will engage in open dialogue, challenging harmful traditions while respecting faith.
Parents and community elders will confront taboos and commit to ending early marriages.

This is not just another awareness campaign. It is a direct intervention; a space where young people, who are most affected, can lead the conversation.

We cannot do this alone. Many still believe child marriage and teen pregnancy are "just how things are." But with your help, we can prove that change is possible.

Your donation will fund:

  • Venue and materials for the summit
  • Training for youth advocates
  • Outreach to religious and community leaders
  • Follow-up mentorship programs

This is a fight for dignity, education, and the futures of thousands of girls. If you believe, as we do, that no child should be a bride or a mother before her time, please stand with us.

With hope and determination,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
