Anaya, 13, is breaking barriers in her community as the first girl in her family to reach secondary education. Coming from a Nomadic and Denotified Tribes background, Anaya’s family survives on daily wage work, and educational opportunities for girls are limited. Despite these challenges, she is determined to continue her studies and ensure her younger sisters can do the same.
Through Karuna's Adolescent Girls Groups, Anaya has gained life skills, legal awareness, and confidence. She recently organised a community event celebrating the importance of education for girls, inspiring peers to pursue their dreams. Her leadership and courage show how support and opportunity can transform lives.
Nirman empowers 200 girls from NT-DNT communities, helping them stay in school, delay early marriage, and build confidence and self-reliance. Activities include girls’ groups, life skills workshops, health camps, exposure visits, and community sessions—creating safer, brighter futures.
Thanks to your support more girls every day are realising their fullest potential and saying no to child marriage.
