Fighting Malnutrition in 10 Villages of Nyanza

Dear GlobalGiving partners, through you, we would like to thank Corteva Partners and all our individual donors for their huge support to fighting poverty, malnutrition, food insecurity, unemployment in Nyanza District.

From the $14,927.52 we received after bank charges, we managed to achieve the following:

-       Distribution of 1124 laying hens, 5620 banana suckers and 1124 fruits trees. These benefited 562 households with 3372 beneficiaries from three villages (Karwiru VoH: 118 households with 708 beneficiaries; Kadusenyi VoH: 194 househlods with 1164 beneficiaries and Nyamiseke VoH: 250 households with 1500 beneficiaries).

On top of these, all beneficiaries of received 3 trainings on banana farming, fruit tree farming and chicken keeping, soil management, compost making, pests and disease control, climate change and saving. They were also supported with organic manure .We believe beyond any dought that, after one and half years, there will be no people going to bed on an empty stomach in these villages. The remaining work is make kitchen gardens for all the above mentioned households with more support coming in.

One lady in Kadusenyi bowed down and thanked God for using good people to support her family. She said, “we never thought of this happening to us, we used to see your truck passing here and asked ourselves the kind of sin we made for us not to be supported. I promise, even my grand children will benefit from this uplift God has provided”
