Jake’s acts as the bridge between product and people, managing the procurement, sorting, storage and distribution of hygiene products and basic needs items. We work directly with other 501c3 nonprofits, schools or faith-based organizations to reach people in need.
Since the beginning of 2023 through mid-March, we’ve received requests for 1,500+ girls and women in need of period products. As part of our On the Dot program, we now also manage the We Gotcha Girl initiative in partnership with Fox Communities Credit Union to provide tampons and pads in discreet packaging to local schools. The products are repackaged into discreet, cloth pencil bags so that girls can conceal the items while using products they need during school.
We use discreet packaging to help with privacy; often, period poverty is a hidden struggle.
“We have a large population of Hmong in our communities that are struggling, but no one would ever guess that they are,” said Annmarie Vang of NEW Hmong professionals. “Most of our clients would say hygiene products are a treat, especially feminine products. Some families would have to choose between purchasing pads/ diapers/ toothpaste or food. No one should be deprived of health products.”
Thank you for your help in getting these supplies into the hands of women and girls, little by little!
